Description	This article presents the views and experiences of teachers in kindergartens (or sisters in a special nursery school) that care (formerly cared) of children placed in long-term institutional care. This quantitative - qualitative survey complements the concept's wider dissertation dealing with the development of social skills of these children. The purpose of the survey is to identify the differences in their opinion, compared with children of normal social environment (with an emphasis on the social skills), and to highlight the possible advantages and disadvantages of inpatient care in the development of social skills. Finally, the possible measures aimed at eliminating social handicap of preschool children are described. (en) Príspevok prezentuje názory a skúsenosti učiteliek materských škôl (pripadne sestier vo špeciálnej materskej škole), ktoré ošetrujú (ošetrovali) deti umiestené dlhodobo v ústavnom opatrovaniu. Toto kvantitatívne - kvalitatívne pojaté šetrenie doplňuje širšie pojatú dizertačnú prácu, zaoberajúcu sa rozvojom sociálnych schopností týchto detí. Účelom prieskumu je zistiť, aké odlišnosti vidia respondenti v porovnaní s deťmi z bežného sociálneho prostredia (s dôrazom na sociálne kompetencie), a poukázať na prípadné výhody či nevýhody ústavného opatrovania v oblasti rozvoja sociálnych kompetencií. Záverom sú načrtnuté možné opatrenia, smerujúce k eliminácii sociálneho hendikepu predškolských detí.
