  • The objective of the theoretical paper is to start a discussion on ensuring quality of university education at faculties of education from the viewpoint of the Bologna process that has been an impulse for all-European cooperation in this area - the so-called European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The contribution reflects challenges of the Bologna process which has changed the form of European university education, and also argues against the quantitative system of performance evaluation at faculties of education, influencing quality of the basic level of education in our nations by means of the %22production%22 of future teachers. The main specific feature of faculties of education, distinguishing them from other faculties to a certain extent, is seen in the %22coexistence%22 of diverse majors of very distinct characters (from exact to artistic ones), with the common denominator of teaching. This fact influences not only organizational climate of faculties of education but also academic staff's perception, or identity.
