Description
  • The degree of grasping - understanding a sign language as a phenomena, which is a basic tool of communication during an education process, is described. The difficulties and requirements for education towards language awareness in the conditions of educating children and pupils with hearing impairment are discussed. Additionally, the position of sign and Czech languages in this process and their reflection in curricular documents are introduced. The characteristics between the relations of realizing the existence of a language in the directon of other processes and activities, which should be the content and methodology provided during school education. The specific questionnaire was designed for this purpose and implemented. Even though some legislative framework exists, it is not certain that the above-mentioned conditions are being applied effectively. Research on the sign language competences of teachers is reported here.
