  • Bacterial abundance, biomass and particulate organic carbon were determined in the hyporheic sediments < 1 mm. Fine fraction (< 0,063 mm) and coarse fraction (0,063 mm - 1mm) were analysed separately. The coarse fraction was dominant (95.5 %) and its POC content contributed major part (on average 65 %) to total POC (TPOC). The changes in spatial distribution of TPOC were due to the variation of POC in fine fraction. Bacteria in fine fraction contributed on average 62,9 % to total bacterial abundance and 51,7 % to the total bacterial biomass, despite the fact that fine fraction represented only < 4,5 % of sediment < 1 mm. Our results stressed an importance of fine sediment fraction for bacteria as well as for spatio-temporal distribution of biofilm POC.

  • Bakteriální abundance, biomasa a POC byly sledovány v hyporheických sedimentech < 1 mm. Jemná frakce (< 0,063 mm) a hrubá frakce (0,063 mm - 1mm) byly analyzovány zvlášť. Hrubá frakce dominovala (95.5 %) a její obsah POC (65 %) přispíval největší částí k celkovému množství POC (TPOC). Změny v prostorové distribuci TPOC byly zejména z důvodu kolísání obsahu POC v jemné frakci. Bakterie v jemné frakci se podíleli v průměru 62.9 % na celkové bakteriální abundanci a 51.7 % na celkové bakteriální biomase, ačkoliv jemná frakce představovala pouze 4,5 % sedimentu < 1 mm. Naše výsledky podtrhují význam jemné frakce pro bakterie a rovněž pro časoprostorovou distribuci biofilmového POC. (cs)
