Description	Od czasu spalenia na stosie w 1415 roku postać ks. Jana Husa dzieli czeski naród i Kościoły chrześcijańskie. W przeciągu XX wieku doszło do zmiany perspektywy spojrzenia na niego tak, że z heretyka stał się reformatorem Kościoła. Tekst stara się odpowiedzieć na pytanie, co spowodowało taką zmianę i na ile może to być uważane za ilustrację postępu ruchu ekumenicznego w 2. połowie XX wieku. From times of burning of John Hus in 1415 his person deals the Czech nation and Christian Churches. During the 20th century it occured a change in evaluation of his personality: from a %22heretic%22 to a precursor of the Reformation. The purpose of the paper is to outline answers to a double question: what caused and enabled such an important change of attitudes, and also to what degree these events may be treated as an illustration of the processes of historical-theological research and ecumenical aspirations typical especially for the last half-century.
