Description	In this paper I present the principles of my research on Czech, German, English and Spanish phraseology. The paper researches - from the perspective of the cognitive linguistics - four different %22linguistic views of the world%22 that underlie the idioms of the four languages in question. It is an original research since it deals with diverse disciplines by providing a foundation for understanding the cognitive mechanisms of idioms in a systematic and comparative way. (en) Este texto presenta los primeros pasos emprendidos en un ambicioso proyecto que, siempre desde la perspectiva de la lingüística cognitiva, estudia las posibilidades de la fraseología como medio para entender la imagen que un determinado grupo de hablantes tiene del mundo. El estudio de la %22imagen del mundo%22 desde la perspectiva cognitiva es un tema de enorme actualidad y que ha sido objeto de intenso estudio en los últimos diez a?os por parte de varios especialistas. La investigación cuya metodología y principios teóricos presentamos aquí es, que sepamos, la primera de estas características realizada hasta el momento, dado que consiste en un estudio cognitivo comparativo en profundidad y sistemático de la fraseología en cuatro lenguas europeas.
