Description	The article deals with the linguistic history and present of Peruvian and Bolivian Altiplano, especially the area of the Lake Titicaca. First, it focuses on major language migration just before the arrival of Spaniards (the expansion of Aymara and Quechua to the south and a gradual disappearance of the original languages in the area, Puquina and Uruquilla). The arrival of Spaniards accelerated the process of displacement of the two languages and it also heralded the entrance of Spanish language which is, nevertheless, only the second language for three fourths of the speakers in this region. In the second part, the article deals with the language policies and projects of bilingual education in Peru. (en) El artículo trata de la historia y el presente lingüístico del Altiplano peruano y boliviano, sobre todo de la región del lago Titicaca. Primero se centra en los importantes desplazamientos lingüísticos, ocurridos poco antes de la llegada de los espa?oles (la expansión del aimara y el quechua hacia el sur y la disminución de las lenguas originarias de la zona, el puquina y el uruquilla). La llegada de los espa?oles aceleró el proceso de sustitución de estas dos lenguas, y, a la vez, significó la llegada del idioma espa?ol que, sin embargo, sigue siendo solo la segunda lengua para tres cuartos de la población de la zona. En la segunda parte, el artículo trata de las políticas lingüísticas y los proyectos de la educación bilingüe en Perú.
