Description	The prognostic and predictive value of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) expression and some genetic alternations in the EGFR signal pathway, such as EGFR amplification, EGFR-activationg tyroskine kinase mutations or the k-ras gene mutation, were investigated in our study. The aim of the research to evaluate the occurence of the above-mentioned biomarkers in correlation with the therapeutic response and survival in patients with spinocellular head and neck cancers. The presence of activating mutationts in the EGFR tyroskine domain, the k-ras mutation, and the correlation between EGFR gene amplification and receptor expression were proved.
