  • A theoretical study on maximum explosion pressure in closed vessel deflagration of stoichiometric gaseous mixtures, for various initial temperatures within 25-250 °C and ambient initial pressure is reported. Explosion pressures and explosion times of stoichiometric fuel-air mixtures were calculated in a spherical vessel. The adiabatic explosion pressures, computed by assuming chemical equilibrium within the flame front are examined in comparison with the measured explosion pressures. The influence of initial temperature and heat losses during propagation on explosion pressures and explosion times are discussed for the examined systems. Both calculated and measured explosion pressures are linear functions of total initial temperature, at constant initial pressure and fuel concentration.
