Description	This article presents the results of empirical research on entrepreneurial intentions, which are presented in the context of selected personal characteristics of students of economic universities in two different countries, Poland and the Czech Republic. The authors accept the idea that the entrepreneurial intentions of young people – with the existing state of knowledge – are related to their perceptions of their %22business potential%22. In this concept, the authors understand the selected psychological traits (a subjective evaluation by respondents), included in most business models. Recognizing that entrepreneurial behaviors are determined by a number of factors, it was assumed that the process of individual entrepreneurship begins both with perception and with a positive assessment of their abilities - the competence, skills and character traits. (en) Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie wyników badań empirycznych na temat intencji przedsiębiorczych rozpatrywanych w kontekście wybranych cech osobowych studentów uczelni ekonomicznych w dwóch krajach, w Polsce i Republice Czeskiej. Autorzy przyjmują tezę, iż intencje przedsiębiorcze młodych ludzi – zgodnie z istniejącym stanem wiedzy – związane są z postrzeganiem przez nich swojego „potencjału przedsiębiorczości”. Pod tym pojęciem autorzy rozumieją wybrane cechy psy - chologiczne (ich subiektywną ocenę dokonywaną przez respondentów), uwzględniane w większości modeli przedsiębiorczości. Uznając, że zachowania przedsiębiorcze uwarunkowane są licznymi czynnikami, przyjęto, że proces przedsiębiorczości indywidualnej zaczyna się od percepcji i pozy - tywnej oceny własnych możliwości – kompetencji, umiejętności czy cech charakteru.
