| - Í greininni er fjallað um matvæli merkt með gæðavottun (quality labels). Markmiðið var að koma auga á og bera saman viðhorf neytenda til þeirra gæðavottana sem notaðar eru á íslenskum og tékkneskum matvörumarkaði. Í fyrri hluta greinarinnar eru gæðavottanir skilgreindar og einkenni þeirra útlistuð en í seinni hlutanum er greint frá niðurstöðum rannsóknar er tók mið af ofangreindum markmiðum. Gögnum var safnað með hentugleikaúrtaki og fengust 267 svör; 117 svör voru frá íslenskum þátttakendum en 150 frá tékkneskum þátttakendum. Niðurstöður sýna að marktækur munur er til staðar á milli viðhorfa neytenda í löndunum tveimur til eftirfarandi þátta: Upprunalands matvara, vitneskju um merkingar og áhuga á upplýsingum varðandi gæðavottun matvæla. Ennfremur var tölfræðilega marktækur munur á milli kynja er kom að matarinnkaupum í Tékklandi sem og áhuga kynjanna á gæðavottun.
- The paper discusses food products certification with quality labels. The aim was to identify and compare consumer attitudes to the quality labels used in the Icelandic and Czech food products market. In the first part of the paper, the product quality and its certification is defined, the second part describes the results of marketing research conducted with the purpose to identify and analyse consumer attitudes. Data was collected using a convenience sample, response rate was 267 questionnaires; 117 from Iceland and 150 from the Czech Republic. Results show that significant differences do exist between Czech and Icelandic respondents in the following factors: country of food product origin preference, awareness of labels, and interest in information regarding food quality labels. Furthermore, statistically significant differences were confirmed between gender of Czech respondents and their responsibility for food purchases as well as their interest in information regarding food quality labels.
