Description	The area in which the largest amount of company’s funds is blocked is stock. Enterprises accumulate large amounts of stock, which is not used, and thus occupies space and blocks funds; or stock, which is stored at places where it is not needed at all, thus creating problems in distribution or production processes. Therefore stock needs to be reduced to the maximum extent, i.e. it has to be managed in a suitable way to reduce the volume of stock to minimum or to remove it completely. The aim of that article is to propose an algorithm for assessing warehouse stock in metallurgical and mechanical engineering companies.
