Description
  • This paper explores the potential of an approximate description of the stress-strain relationship. Listed are the principles and the proposed form of simple non-linear (relying on no more than two exponential functions), non-continuous (including the initial linear portion according to the Hooke's law) and approximate models of the dependence of flow stress (stress) on the amount of strain. This model should be applied to specific measured data from stress-strain curves for three strain rates: 0.1, 1 and 10 s-1 at the temperature of the specimen of 1,273 K. The specimens were made of 9Cr steel. The curves were obtained by processing flat specimens of mm in the Gleeble compression simulator. Implementation and verification of the model was performed in Microsoft Excel using its convenient Solver tool. Finally, the calculated values were compared with experimentally measured data.
