Description
  • Protective of metal surface has significant role in application of materials in corrosion medium. Application of explosive welding enables bonding of different, mutually unweldable metals. Obtained joint represents high mechanical properties and good workability. Paper presents results of investigations with two-layer explosively formed sandwich composite consisting of steel CrNi(18/10) + Ti. Structure and properties after explosive welding of bonding zones and bonded materials have been analysed on samples with using of light microscopy and SEM analysis. Contact surfaces between steel and titanium are corrugated; there is small amount of penetrations and voids at bonding zone.
