  • The work is devoted to the study of fundamentals properties of ceramic (brittle) materials using the indentation technique. This one is reliable which makes possible to determine the set of mechanical properties of ceramics. The evaluation was realized on the Al2O3 tool ceramics. The hardness value and indentation fracture toughness were determined. The evaluation of ceramics response to repeated loading end/or to the fatigue behavior is performed. Next part of this contribution is devoted to the residua stress field evaluation in the vicinity of primary Vickers indent using the special indentation technique.

  • Práce je věnována studiu základních vlastností keramických materiálů za použití indentační techniky. Toto je spolehlivá technika, která umožňuje stanovit soubor mechanických vlastností keramických materiálů. Hodnocení bylo uskutečněno na řezné keramice typu Al2O3.Byly stanoveny hodnoty tvrdosti a indentační lomová houževnatost. Bylo provedeno i hodnocení odezvy keramiky na opakované zatěžování, resp. na únavové chování. Závěrečná část příspěvku je věnována hodnocení poli zbytkového napětí v blízkosti primárního Vickersova vtisku při použití speciální techniky. (cs)
