Description	The paper gives account of the potential uses of transition curve approximation from numerical and physical modelling of transition phenomena accompanying the change in chemical composition of continuously cast steel during sequence casting. The objective was to assess the individual approximation approaches and obtain a mathematical/physical account of these transition curves, which is crucial for the modelling results to be introduced in the dynamic control, monitoring and marking of transition billets at CCM 2 at Třinecké železárny (TŽ), a.s. Cílem bylo posoudit jednotlivé aproximační postupy a získat matematicko-fyzikální popis těchto přechodových křivek, který je nutný pro implementaci výsledků modelování do dynamického řízení, sledování a označování směsných předlitků v podmínkách ZPO č.2 v Třineckých železárnách, a.s. (cs)
