| - This work is focused on the life cycle assessment as well as environmental impacts of plain concrete prepared on steel slag basis through the life cycle assessment (LCA) method. The LCA is the generally accepted approach of determining the environmental consequences of a particular product over its entire life cycle. The LCA method can also be used like comparison of the rival products leading to minimizing of environmental impacts. The aim of the environmental assessment is to compare total environmental impacts of plain concrete prepared with or without share of steel slag as the partial replacement of gravel fraction (in the first case: 4/8; in the second case: 4/8 and 8/16) in terms of threats to soil, water, air and human health in order to select the most suitable alternative. One of the LCA methods called Eco-indicator 99 was chosen for this calculation, as addition to three significant indicators: Resources Depletion, Ecosystem Quality and Human Health.
