Description	Within the market of universities, the Faculty of Mining and Geology, VŠB-TU of Ostrava (hereinafter FMG VŠB-TUO) possesses the monopoly position regarding the offer of classical mining branches. Besides them, the school provides the possibility to study modern specializations which are directed to new technologies as well as branches responding to new legislative requests in the field of environment [2]. This contribution is aimed at harmonizing legislative requests regarding the specialized university education (which is necessary within mining operations or those performed by mining) with the content of curricula and specializations which are implemented by FMG VŠB-TUO. From this contribution it implies that FMG VŠB-TUO is infungible in the area of tertiary education.
