Description	Zkoumání optimalizace těžby a úpravy bioplynu s minimalizováním úniku do atmosféry (cs) Directive of Council No. 91/156/EEC states the Strategy of the European Union (EU) for municipal waste management. According to this, the member states must prohibit the negative impact of landfills on the environment. This policy has been worked into the standards of the Czech Republic from which ČSN 83 80 34 (Landfill Degasification) is the most important one. It is stated there that municipal landfills with more than 10 % of biodegradable content, a height of more than 2.5 m and a capacity larger than 10,000 m3, must have ensured, among other things, that the gas arising from them will be disposed of. There are about 160 landfills in the Czech Republic, but only about 50 of them can be, regarding the concentration of methane gas, considered for the possibility of the co-generation of biogas (as research carried out within the framework of Grant Project No. 105/01/0311, 2001).
