Description	In this contribution, the RCM theory is summarised in a nutshell as it is gradually formed at the Department of Electrical Power Engineering of VŠB # Technical University of Ostrava. Furthermore, the first experience from RCM introduction into practice is presented here. The first experience shows that the main problem is always to find reliable updated input data. Thus the primary task is a change in the existing structures of particular databases in the given regional power distribution companies. These databases must be adjusted to get, by simple evaluation programs, the input data for the calculation functions of RCM.
