Description
| - The article is focused on the advanced power semiconductor converter area. The contribution deals with the principle analysis, construction and measured properties of the ZCS frequency converter. The examined converter is the series resonant current-typeDC-link frequency converter. The converter is a kind of PWM controlled current-type frequency converter. The main advantage of this conception is almost sinusoidal output voltage and a small level of electromagnetic emissivity. It is possible to reach h igher efficiency by using the series resonant DC-link compared to the hard-switched inverter with a sine wave filter. The laboratory device with power about 3kW was built. This physical model based on IGBT with serial diode is controlled by DSP. The results of measurement are shown in the paper.
