Description
| - Thermokinetic properties, which can help with better understanding of combustion process, can be easily determined by experimental tests on so called drop tube. This stand simulates conditions which occur in pulverized coal-fired boiler by setting of main boundary conditions such as concentration of oxygen, temperature and velocity of reaction gas. This paper presents drop tube, which was built at the Energy Research Center in recent years. Experimental data will be used for correction of input parameters, with which calculates mathematical model. For solving of this model was used program Fluent. Mathematical models of combustion volatile fraction and combustible fraction of coal particle are defined in detail in this contribution. These models differ in definition rate of chemical reaction. Temperature field and distribution of species mass fraction is evaluated for comparing with experimental tests. Results from adjusted mathematical model should provide closer information about combustion process in real operation.
