Description	Nanostructured titanium (nTi) is an attractive material for use in dental implants. It offers the advantages of being bio inert, contains neither potentially toxic nor allergenetic alloying elements, and has significantly higher specific strength properties than any other material used for dental implants. This paper compares in detail the properties of nTi with those of other implant materials and presents the results of two clinical evaluations of cylindrical threaded screw implants (Nanoimplant(R)) fabricated from nTi. No complications were noticed during the early postoperative period and early loading. This is the first reported application of the nTi in dental implants in the world. (en) Pro dentální náhrady jsou vyvíjeny nové materiály, které by lépe vyhovovaly požadavkům kladeným na ně, z hlediska medicíny. Perspektivním materiálem pro tyto účely je nanostrukturní titan (nTi). V práci jsou srovnány jeho vlastnosti s vlastnostmi ostatních materiálů používaných pro stejný účel. nTi je, stejně jako klasický komerčně čistý titan, bioinertní, neobsahuje žádné, ani jen potenciálně toxické ani alergenní přísady a má vyšší měrné pevnostní vlastnosti než jakýkoliv materiál používaný pro dentální implantáty. Z nTi byly vyrobeny šroubové implantáty Nanoimplant(R) o průměru 2.4 mm a délce intraosseální části 12 mm. Nanoimplantáty byly použity ve dvou klinických aplikacích. Průběh hojení i časného pooperačního období byl bez jakýchkoliv komplikací. Jedná se o, ve světě prvé, použití nTi dentálního implantátu. (cs)
