Description	This paper focuses on a general assessment of the current state of risk communication in the area of major accident prevention in the Czech Republic, particularly the type of communication aimed at informing the general public. The main focus is on possible ways and forms of such communication. The main differences between the current SEVESO II Directive and the newly adopted SEVESO III Directive are discussed in terms of their impact in the Czech Republic.
