Description
  • Effect of deicing salts is one of significant factors causing a corrosion of reinforcement of concrete bridges. This important issue that affects structural lifetime deserves special attention. Development of suitable numeric models allow for the better understanding of chloride ion ingress process. Implementation of suitable algorithm for the chloride diffusion calculation is the aim of the work. The paper discusses preparation of a model of transient diffusion of chloride and calculation of the chloride concentration. Emphasis is put on the graphical output that is suitable for understanding the problem. The implementation of the effect of time-dependent concrete diffusion coefficient covers following part of the paper.
