Description
  • Five self-adaptive algorithms for single-objective optimization are compared on six benchmark functions at three levels of problem dimension (dimension levels are 5, 10, and 30, resp.). The performance of the algorithms differs very significantly both in the reliability of the search and in time demands. The variants of differential evolution with a competitive self-adaptive mechanism appear as the best preforming algorithms on these benchmark problems. The recommendations for the use of algorithms in real-world problems are derived from the experimental results.
