Description	In der Studie wird die Entwicklung der tschechischen germanistischen Linguistik von ihren Anfängen bis zur Gegenwart skizziert. Es wird darauf hingewiesen, dass sie nach dem Jahre 1989 an ihre besten Traditionen im Bereich der diachronen Forschung angeknüpft und gleichzeitig ihr Forschungsspektrum im Rahmen der Untersuchungen der Gegenwartssprache wesentlich erweitert hat, so dass eine breite Forschungsbasis geschaffen worden ist, die eine außergewöhnliche Chance für die Zukunft darstellt. The article presents the development of German linguistic studies in the Czech Republic from the earliest beginnings to the present day. The author shows how Czech scholars of the German language after 1989 drew on the strong local tradition of diachronic research while also expanding their focus to the contemporary German language; this created a broad-based research scene which offers a healthy outlook for the future.
