Description	This article has two main goals - at first to present the key points of development of social work in the Czech Republic and the second to present the situation of people with disabilities in the Czech Republic with a focus on transformation and de-institutialisation of social services after Velvet Revolution in 1989. (en) Este artículo tiene dos objetivos: por un lado, presentar los aspectos clave del desarrollo del trabajo social en la República Checa y, por el otro, exponer la situación actual de las personas con discapacidad, especialmente en lo que concierne a la transformación y la desinstitucionalización de los servicios sociales de la Revolución de Terciopelo de 1989.
