  • Charakteristické nizské magnetické pole a vysoká hustota plazmatu ve sférických tokamacích nedovolují typické vyzařování řadné a mimořádné vlny z prvních pěti harmonických. Takže pouze elektronové Bernsteinovy mody, které nejsou omezovány vysokou hustotou plazmatu, moho byt zodpovědné za ECE. Při tom tyto mody se musí v oblasti horní hybridní resonance transformovat na elektromagnetické vlny (cs)
