  • The paper presents results of a study of the localization of charge carriers on defects of isolated polymer chains and in assemblies of ordered chains. A reversible creation and annihilation of traps in one-dimensional systems should result in a reversible modulation of the effective mobility of charge carriers, making possible the operation of a molecular optoelectrical switch.
