Description	In USA, refinish automotive coatings are mostly applied at ambient conditions. Productivity of the overall repair job is of great importance. The productivity depends on many factors. These include: time between coats, time before sanding, and time before car can be reassembled and delivered. The demands for productivity are rising while VOC laws are becoming stricter. Now coatings must rely on low molecular weight materials, which require reactive cure. Unfortunately, increasing the cure via addition of catalysts causes an increase in the amount of solvent retained in the film. This lowers the Tg of the film and increases the time to sand. Produktivita závisí na mnoha faktorech, mezi které patří doba zasychání mezi nátěry, doba před pískováním a doba zasychání před montáží a expedicí. Požadavky na produktivitu vzrůstají, zatímco limity VOC (volatile organic content) se stále zpřísňují. V současnosti jsou výchozími složkami pro polymerní nátěry nízkomolekulární látky, což vyžaduje reaktivní vytvrzování. Zvýšení rychlosti vytvrzování (např. přídavkem katalyzátoru) je bohužel spojeno se zvýšenou zádrží rozpouštědel ve vrstvě nátěru.
