Description
  • Nový funkční typ keramiky je vyvíjen zejména pro potřebu kloubních implantátů, zejména celokeramických kyčelních kulových ložisek. Nová koncepce využití funkční keramiky by měla přinést delší životnost, zlepšené mechanické vlastnosti a zároveň větší biologickou kompatibilitu implantátu. Mechanické vlastnosti této keramiky jsou silně ovlivněny reziduálními fázovými napětími, které je možné ovlivnit volbou profilu fázového složení. Nedestruktivní neutronová difrakční technika pro měření vnitřních napětí byla úspěšně využita pro experimentální studium tohoto problému. (cs)
  • New functionally graded Al2O3/Y-Zr-O2 ceramics are developed as a new material for production of hip prosthesis, especially all-ceramic hip bearings. The used concept of graded ceramics i expected to provide better long-term performance based on improved mechanical properties and lower clinical risks. Mechanical properties are strongly dependent on distribution of residual stresses resulting mainly from phase specific stresses after cooling from sintering temperature. However, these stresses could be optimized by an appropriate selection of a concentration profile of constituent phases. The non-destructive neutron diffraction mapping of residual stresses has been used to investigate this problem experimentally.
