Description
  • For the numerical modelling of microstructure growth in metal solidification the modified anisotropic phase-field model is used. The numerical algorithm is based on finite-difference spatial discretization together with the higher-order time solvers. A series of qualitative studies demonstrating ability of the model is presented. A special attention is paid to the implementation issues such as handling of high CPU-cost parts of the code and parallelization. As a quantitative result, we present the convergence studies for the dendritic growth.
