  • In this letter to the editor nanoDESI was demonstrated to cope comparably well with salt contamination as DESI. The signal-to-noise ratio did not deteriorate substantially with NaCl concentration up to 2.5mol/l. Internal energy distributions of ions generated by nanoDESI and ESI were measured with the SY method and turned out to be largely overlapping with mean energies of 2.2 and 2.4 eV, respectively. Finally, we propose a simple technical modification of the nanoDESI experimental setup to improve the measurement reproducibility
