  • Tepelně labilní karotenoidy nelze stanovovat plynovou chromatografií (GC) a kombinací GC–hmotnostní spektrometrie (GC–MS). Jedinou použitelnou metodou je vysokotlaká kapalinová chromatografie (HPLC) s různými typy detekce. HPLC na reversní fázi (RP-HPLC) se často používá se stacionární fází C18. Ideální metoda pro ionizaci karotenoidů je APCI (chemická ionizace při atmosférickém tlaku) (cs)
