  • V tomto článku je popsán efekt adenylátcyklázového toxinu (CyaA) bakterie Bordetella pertusis na morfologii ovčích erytrocytů a jeho lokalizace v membráně erytrocytů. Bylo ukázáno, že CyaA indukuje postupnou změnu morfologie erytrocytů, jež zahrnuje smrštění buněk, tvorbu výběžků a váčků a bobtnání buněk. Dále, imunodetekce zanořených molekul CyaA-232/FLAG pomocí specifické protilátky anti-FLAG a sekundární protilátky s navázanou partikulí koloidního zlata ukázala, že molekuly CyaA se nacházejí v membráně ve shlucích. Pomocí konfokální mikroskopie byla dále zjištěna uniformní stechiometrie shluků molekul CyaA, což naznačilo možnost, že se molekuly CyaA váží do specifických oblastí v membráně erytrocytů (cs)

Further, immunolabeling of inserted CyaA-232/FLAG molecules with specific anti-FLAG antibodies and IgG-gold particles indicated a clustered distribution of CyaA molecules in erythrocyte membrane. This was confirmed by immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy, which revealed uniform stoichiometry of CyaA clusters, suggesting CyaA binding into specific domains in erythrocyte membrane
