Description	The structure of labial gland was studied in larvae, pseudergates, presoldiers, soldiers, nymphs, imagoes and neotenic reproductives of Prorhinotermes simplex. The labial glands consist of secretory cells organized into acini, water sacs and the ducts connecting the gland parts to the basis of the labium. Acini are composed of parietal and central cells (up to four different types of central cells occur in an individuum). Only one type of cells forms the water sacs in all castes.
