  • Vznik bimetalické fáze niob (Nb) – palladium (Pd) připravené napařováním proměnného množství Nb na vysoce defektní povrch Pd za laboratorní teploty je studován in situ fotoelektronovou spektroskopií (XPS). V oblasti submonovrstevné koncentrace Nb (<1.47 atomů Nb cm-2) vzniká na povrchu Pd dvourozměrná bimetalická fáze. Zvýšením koncentrace nanášeného Nb nad monovrstevné pokrytí dochází k promíchávání napařených atomů Nb s atomy Pd podložky za vzniku homogenní trojrozměrné bimetalické fáze. Tento systém je perspektivní pro přípravu modifikované Pd membrány pro vodíkové separátory a membránové katalyzátory. (cs)
  • Evolution of niobium-palladium (Nb-Pd) interface alloy prepared by in situ Nb deposition on highly defect polycrystalline Pd surface at room temperature has been investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). A two-step growth mode of Nb adlayer has been observed: a two-dimensional (2D)-like growth mode in a submonolayer Nb concentration region and three-dimensional (3D) intermixing of Nb and Pd atoms at Nb loadings above a monolayer coverage. The latter growth mode resulted in appearance of rather homogeneous Nb-Pd alloy phase. This system is prospective for fabrication of modified Pd membrane with enhanced hydrogen permeability and improved mechanical properties.
