Description
  • Isotopic species of dioxygen released during the decomposition of 15N2 18O over Fe-ferrierite show that the zeolite oxygens participate in the reaction. While Fe-ferrierite alone dies not exchnage its oxygens with 18O2 below 400 oC, this exchange is very rapid in the mixture of 18O2 + N2O. The amount of participating zeolite oxygen (ca. 1-6 per iron atom) is practically the same in the latter case as in the decomposition of 15N2 18O. The time dependence of individual dioxygen isotope species released during the 15N2 18O decomposition points to the primary release of 18O2 which is very rapidly exchanged for the zeolite oxygen by a single-step mechanism.

  • Isotopické specie molekulárního kyslíku uvolněného během rozkladu 15N2 18O na Fe-ferrieritu svědčí o tom, že kyslíky zeolitu se zúčastňují reakce. Zatímco Fe-ferrierit sám nevyměňuje svůj kyslík s 18O2 pod 400 oC, výměna je velmi rychlá ve směsi 18O2+N2O. Množství zahrnutého zeolitického kyslíku (ca 1-6 O per Fe) je v tomto případě prakticky stejné jako při rozkladu 15N218O. Časová závislost jednotlivých isotopických molekul kyslíku uvolněných během rozkladu 15N218O ukazuje, že se primárně uvolní 18O2, který se velmi rychle mění za kyslík zeolitu single-step mechanismem.
