  • Kinetics of oxidative photodegradation of Monuron(3-(4-chlorophenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea) in different photocatalytic systems (iron, TiO2 and combined system iron + TiO2) were investigated and compared. The influence of iron addition on TiO2 photocatalyst and of TiO2 on the photocatalytic cycle FE(III)/Fe(II) were carefuly studied. A very positive effect of iron addition was observed. This phenomena was more and more pronounced when TiO2 concentration was lower. In a suspension of TiO2 (24mg L-1) with addition of Fe(III) (3x10-4 molL-1) the measured rate constant was similar to that obtained in a suspension of TiO2 with a concentration more than 20 times hogher (500mg L-1). The mechanistic approach carried out in this study allows us to identify the main reactions governing the combined system and a photochemical cycle was proposed. The optimization of the photocatalytic systems was obtained when each photocatalyst plays a specific role.

  • Byla srovnána kinetika fotodegracace monuronu (3-(4-chlorfenyl)-1,1-dimethylmočoviny) v různých fotokatalytických soustavách (Fe(III), TiO2 a kombinace Fe(III) + TiO2). Zvláště podrobně byly zkoumány důsledky přídavku Fe(III) k soustavě TiO2 a vliv přítomnosti TiO2 na fotokatalytický cyklus Fe(III)/Fe(II). Přitom byl zjištěn velmi pozitivní efekt přídavku Fe(III), zvláště patrný při nízkých koncentracích TiO2. V suspenzi TiO2 (24 mg dm 3) s přídavkem Fe(III) (3?10 4 mol dm 3) byla rychlostní konstanta degradace srovnatelná s hodnotou naměřenou pro suspenzi TiO2 o více než dvacetinásobné koncentraci (500 mg dm 3) za nepřítomnosti Fe(III). Mechanistický přístup dovolil zjistit hlavní reakce v kombinované fotokatalytické soustavě, na jejichž základě byl navržen pravděpodobný fotochemický cyklus. Optimální funkce kombinované soustavy se dosáhne, pokud každý z fotokatalyzátorů hraje plně svoji specifickou roli, tj. Fe(III) jako hlavní zdroj OH radikálů a TiO2 jako oxidační činidlo Fe(II). (cs)
