| - The future of aviation medicine will always be dependent on the continued existence of Institutes of Aviation Medicine which provide project and operational support and the aviation medicine training of aircrew. These are vital functions which cannot be carried out effectively elsewhere. However, continuity of aeromedical research and advanced postgraduate medical training must be ensured. In these areas it is increasingly likely that we will have to seek the help of academia, but, even so, scientists with an in depth knowledge of aviation medicine and close links with an Institute of Aviation Medicine will be essential to the success of such a development. Understanding all stresses and protecting aircrew from their effects demand skills in physiology and familiarity with aircrew and aircraft systems. This can only come from a close involvement of physiology and psychology with aviation medicine.

- Budoucnost leteckého lékařství bude vždy ovlivněna kontinuitou práce ústavů leteckého zdravotnictví, které zajišťují výhled a funkční podporu výcviku leteckých posádek z hlediska leteckého lékařství. Tyto životně důležité činnosti nelze uskutečňovat efektivně někde jinde. Současně musí být zajištěna kontinuita letecko-lékařského výzkumu a zvyšování úrovně postgraduálního lékařského vzdělávání. V těchto oblastech je třeba nacházet trvalé zapojení akademické obce a vědeckého potenciálu s hlubokými znalostmi v oboru leteckého lékařství a jejich úzké spojení s ústavy leteckého lékařství. Jen tak lze dosáhnout zásadního úspěchu a pokroku. Chápání všech druhů stresu a ochrana pilotů před jeho vlivy vyžaduje hluboké znalosti fyziologie, obeznámenost s leteckými posádkami a leteckými systémy. Toho lze docílit pouze těsnou součinností fyziologie, psychologie a leteckého lékařství. (cs)
