Description
  • Analysis of proteinaceous binders was performed in selected paintings of Edvard Munch. After learning the stratigraphy of the colour layers and identification of inorganic pigments, the infrared microspectrosopy was applied to fragments and cross-sections of the micro-samples embedded in polyester cast resin. Identification of proteins was performed by enzymatic cleavage of the cross-section and few micrograms of fragments followed by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. Rabbit glue, egg white and yolk were mostly identified. MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry was able to recognize proteinaceous binders even in their mixtures. Increased content of phosphorus, found by SEM/EDX, was previously assigned to casein, but its presence was excluded by MALDI-TOF. Phosphorus is more probably present as aluminium phosphate, found by powder X-ray microdiffraction.

  • Tato práce se zabývá analýzou proteinových pojiv ve vybraných vzorcích z obrazů Edvarda Muncha. Po vyhodnocení stratigrafie obrazových vrstev a identifikaci anorganických pigmentů byla k analýza pojiva použita kombinace metod infračervené spektroskopie a MALDI-TOF. Byla vyloučena přítomnost kaseinu, v pojivu bylo identifikováno vejce. (cs)
