Description
  • Convective flow was considered in our mathematical model of cell communication in epithelia in order to take into account new scientific findings that discovered convection importance in cellular systems. We focused on a single-layer epithelium and effects of convective flow on the propagation velocity of chemical signals above the layer. The developed model was analyzed using dynamical simulations and continuations of heteroclinics. We conducted parametric studies for seven model parameters. Presented work can contribute to the development of artificial tissues, biomimetic systems and a better understanding of developmental processes in epithelia.
