Description
(cs)
  • Our research activities were focused on the investigation of interactions between falling spherical particle and single rising bubble. The attachment and detachment of the bubbles onto a collecting particle surface is a ubiquitous natural phenomenon, playing a critical role in numerous practical processes. For the modeling and analysis of the bubble-particle interaction processes, a measure of the effectiveness of the processes is required. The efficiencies are most appropriately modeled using the rate of the particles that react with the bubble. Here, the rate is defined as the number of particles per unit of time. The main aim of this project is studying and describing of collision mechanisms for bubbles that have similar diameter as particles. New experimental apparatus was involved which allows simulating this process for various particle settling velocities. This work is focused on all possible phenomena, which are affecting our measurement, and future plans.
