Description
  • The major goal of this article is to use mathematical model for simulation and design of regimes of fermentation process. Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) biopolymer production serves as a model example of fermentation that is limited both by substrate and product inhibition. In batch process even small difference in initial concentration or better in optimal proportion of initial concentrations can significantly improve production. In fed-batch process properly designed feeding strategy brings higher productivity and lower production cost.
