  • Améba Dictyostelium discoideum je jednoduchým mikroorganismes umožňujícím studie nelineárního chování, excitability a samoorganizace řízené reakčně-difuzními procesy. Zajímavou životní fází tohoto mikroorganismu je tzv. agregační fáze, během níž probíhá periodické uvolňování cAMP z hladovějících buněk. Tato cAMP inicializuje propagaci excitabilních vln ve vrstvě mikroorganismů. Další buňky reagují na signál cAMP svým pohybem ve směru gradientu cAMP a syntézou dalšího cAMP. Po průchodu několika vln jsou vytvořeny agregáty cAMP. V naší práci porovnáváme experimentální pozorování chování buněk Dictyostelium discoideum se simulacemi založenými na metodě diskrétních elementů. (cs)
  • The amoebae Dictyostelium discoideum is a simple micro-organism enabling well the studies of the non-linearity, excitability and self-organization driven by reaction-diffusion processes. Very interesting phase of its lifecycle is the so-called aggregation phase. During this phase the periodic secrete of cyclic adenosin-3',5'-monophosphate (cAMP) occurs in startved cells. This cAMP initiates the propagation of excitation wave through the layer of the cells. Affected cells respond by the movement in the direction of the gradient of cAMP and by the synthesis of the additional cAMP. After the passage of several waves the aggregates of cells are formed. In our work we compare the experimental observation of the aggregation behavior of Dictyostelium discoideum cels with the results of simulations based on the discrete element method.
