  • Catalytic converters with surface storage of hydrocarbons (HC) and nitrogen oxides (NOX) are used for detoxification of diesel exhaust gases. In the course of cold start period, HC and NOX are stored on the catalytic surface. They are released when light-off temperatures of catalytic reactions are reached. HC are oxidized to carbon dioxide and water in the combustion reactions while a part of NOX becomes reduced to N2 in the selective catalytic reduction (SCR). Kinetic parameters of the model have been evaluated on the basis of comparison with experimental data. Series of simulations have been carried out dealing with the influence of the magnitude of HC and NOX surface storage capacities, the rate of inlet temperature increase and the value of the space velocity (SV) on the integral conversions of individual species.

  • Katalysátory s adsorpcí uhlovodíků (HC) a oxidů dusíku (NOX) se používají pro konversi výfukových plynů automobilů s dieselovými motory. Během studeného startu se HC a NOX ukládají na povrch katalysátoru a k uvolnění by mělo dojít až po dosažení zápalné teploty katalytických reakcí. Uhlovodíky jsou oxidovány na CO2 a vodu, přičemž část NOX je redukována na dusík pomocí selektivní katalytické redukce (SCR). Kinetické parametry modelu byly vyhodnoceny z experimentálních dat. Byla provedena řada simulací, při kterých byl zkoumán vliv ukládacích kapacit HC a NOX, rychlosti nárůstu vstupní teploty a průtoku na celkové konverse jednotlivých složek. (cs)
