Description
| - Simulation of discrete event systems is a powerful method for evaluating dynamic behaviour of processes. Discrete event systems, as opposed to dynamic systems, are difficult to describe using classical modelling methods. Models are based on the queue andnetworks theory. Typical examples of discrete event systems are production, service and logistic systems. WITNESS 2001 discrete event simulator enables to model multiproduct processes in interactive graphical environment. A model of a multiproduct batch process understood as a discrete event system is described in the contribution. Simple integral characteristics (processing times, cleaning times etc.) are sufficient for its parameter quantification. Furthermore, basic principles of model creation in W itness 2001 simulator are presented using various types of simulation elements. A simulation project for a multiproduct batch production line has been created so as the production plan can be modified in a simple way.
