Description	The lecture deals with experimental determination of air-water partitioning for organic compounds of environmental interest. First, the key importance of this partitioning is shown for estimation of transport and fate of organic pollutants in the environment, for pollution control and abatement, and remediation. Specific quantities used by various professional communities to describe air-water partitioning are reviewed. Possibilities to estimate these quantities are then discussed, identifying the essential role of their direct experimental measurement. The lecture is centered on experimental determination of air-water partitioning. Specialized direct measurements of VLE in highly dilute solutions as well as indirect approaches combining aqueous solubility measurement with pure solute vapor pressure data are discussed. Experimental methods are reviewed several, techniques implemented or developed in author's own laboratory being presented in detail.
