Description	This paper describes the CELLEX analyser for the on-line measurement of the biomass concentration in a laboratory bioreactor. A brief characteristic of the measure-ment method based on an optical principle is given along with a description of the measuring device and its operation procedures. In addition, algorithms for the control and management of the CELLEX analyser implemented in a PLC and a PC-based con-trol system are outlined in more detail including the corresponding MMI.
